NITDC Denver

NITDC Denver opened in November, 2003, at Denver's World Trade Center at 1625 Broadway. It focuses on developing trade agreements and collaborations that increase business for parties from both Northern Ireland and the US. The parent of NITDC Denver is Invest Northern Ireland (INI), the economic development agency of the Northern Irish government. Since its opening, NITDC Denver has assisted in the development of business deals between Colordo and Northern Irish entities of approximately $18 million.

NITDC Denver focuses on developing partnerships between companies/ universities/ research institutions in Northern Ireland and those in Colorado and, through Colorado, to the wider Rocky Mountain West. "Parntership" encompasses collaborations for research and joint grant funding, technology licenses, formal university links, strategic alliances, distribution agreements, arrangements for customers/ suppliers/ services, contract manufacturing and joint ventures, among others. These partnerships result in increased employment and creation of wealth on both sides. Typically, they enable entry of Northern Irish companies to the US market or expansion of their existing US trade; reciprocally, they enable Colorado companies to enter the Euro market or establish a Euro presence. For companies on both sides, partnerships can result in improved products and services enabling each party to add value through technology licensing, combining products or adapting existing products to a new market.

The role of NITDC Denver is to identify synergies among entities on both sides, facilitate introductions, exchange of information, face to face meetings and act as "broker" maintaining communication between the parties and assistance in putting together final partnerships.
