On April 10, 2002 31 of America's distinguished military astronauts were honored at the National Space Symposium in Colorado Springs. Their recognition was applauded by a packed ballroom high profile guests and was lead by General Ralph Eberhart, USAF Commander In Chief, North American Aerospace Defense Command. About an hour before this program w3w3 Talk Radio interviewed Robert Walker,Chairman of the Commission on the Future of the US Aerospace Industry. Bob, as he likes to be called is deeply entrenched in aerospace and serves on the board of many organizations. If you, like so many, think aerospace is just about space, you'll be surprised by this back to earth interview with w3w3. Bob tells us about hydrogen powered vehicles, renewable energy and what we are likely to see firsthand in the next few years. Bob Walker goes on to suggest that before the end of this decade, vehicles running on hydrogen power will be commonplace. They're save, environmentally friendly and will radically change how we look at and deal with energy. Can this really be done? Mr. Walker appears regularly on FOX News, CNBC and PBS, among others, and lectures at the Brookings Institution, the Georgetown University Government Affairs Institute, the Kennedy School at Harvard University, the Cato Institute, the Heritage Foundation, the Woodrow Wilson Center and at several colleges and universities. He has stayed involved in space policy as a board member of the Aerospace Corporation, SpaceDev, and the Space Foundation. In addition, he is Vice Chairman of the Board of DCH Technology and serves on the advisory board of the IMAX Corporation. Prior to his election to Congress in 1976, Mr. Walker was a high school teacher and a congressional aide. He earned his B.S. in Education from Millersville University in Pennsylvania, an M.A. in Political Science from the University of Delaware and an Honorary Doctor of Laws from Franklin and Marshall College. |
