Please meet Cathy Ewing, executive director of the Colorado Software & Internet Association, CSIA. Today, Cathy with her vibrant team, an active board of directors and a first-class group of sponsors leads one of the finest and most useful organizations in the state of Colorado. Cathy is great at visioning, delegating, working with diverse teams and is know by many who ask, "Where does she get all that energy?" Cathy Ewing joined the Colorado Software & Internet Association (CSIA) in mid-1999. Her role is to direct the activities, growth and outreach of the organization with direction from the board and membership. Under her leadership CSIA has become more active in many areas including public policy, workforce, entrepreneurial networking, leadership and education, as well as reaching beyond Colorado's borders to tell our story. Cathy is no stranger to Colorado's high tech community. As one of the early members of the board of directors for the Boulder Technology Incubator (BTI) she helped set direction and raise funds in the early 1990's. She is now the chairman of the board of directors for BTI's recently formed Education Foundation where she continues to work to help entrepreneurs in the high tech arena become strong business leaders. Prior to joining CSIA in 1999, Cathy spent 7 years as vice president of the Association of Brewers (AOB), an international association of beer companies and brewing hobbyists. She led the AOB through consistent annualized growth of 25-35%. In Colorado, the association was most known for the Great American Beer Festival and the World Beer Cup Awards. In the early 1990's
Cathy worked with startup and fast growth businesses to secure debt financing
- first, as business development director for Commercial Factors and then
as vice president of Chrismer Financial Group. She was instrumental in
assisting businesses to secure bank funding from sources across the country
before Colorado became a branch banking state. During this time she also
served on the board of the Rockies Venture Club and CACI's Small Business
Council.
