Patrick Engstrom
Analysis eLearning Future 6/07/02
Pat
Engstrom, CEO of Knowledge Factor, Inc. gets right to the heart
of the matter. Morgan Keegan in his report, July 2000 wrote, "The
true power of eLearning will be its ability to bring the right
information, to the right people, at the right time." Following
the 'Internet Bubble' bursting, Morgan Keegan's statement is more
accurate today.
Both the Internet
bubble and September 11th have made organizations much more introspective.
In addition to safety and going back to the basics, organizations
are looking at the real value of their people and also the expenses
related to their personnel. In these changing times, an investment
in their people is wise.
Reappearing
on organizational radar screens is eLearning. Online training
has been around in various forms for quite some time. Many of
the methods and techniques used 3 to 5 years ago were not always
greeted with a great amount of enthusiasm, and as a result, eLearning
has not grown with the expectations.
Today, a handful
of companies have listened to those concerns and have developed
some ingenious ways to deliver the new generation of eLearning.
Pat Engstrom, president and co-founder of Knowledge Factor, one
of the premier eLearning companies, is our w3w3 Talk Radio Show
guest. Pat Engstrom has over 30 years of experience in executive
management and technologies, including building two start up Internet
companies.
Knowledge
Factor Inc. (KFI) delivers comprehensive and innovative eLearning
solutions to organizations that need to deliver training content
online. Knowledge Factor has taken the approach that the Internet
is a new media which requires different techniques for content
development and effective content delivery.
