serves on the Board of Directors for a number of Sequel's portfolio companies. Prior to co-founding Sequel, Rick was a founding member of Micro Decisionware, where he developed software designed to tightly integrate personal computers with data stored across local area networks and on mainframe computers. These products are still considered market leaders. One of the first products Rick developed was licensed to Bill Gates, a relationship that later blossomed into a strategic marketing partnership for MDI. In 1994, MDI was sold to Sybase, where Rick served as Vice President of Strategic Relationships. In 1993, Rick received
the Entrepreneur of Distinction award from the Boulder County Chamber
of Commerce. He currently sits on the advisory board of the University
of Colorado Center for Entrepreneurship, is Chairman and Past-president
of the Colorado Venture Capital Association (CVCA), and serves on the
State's Commission on Science and Technology. |
