1674_ 2/16/15 - First off, it’s important to note that Modmarket was not created by “‘restaurant guys”’. I was an engineer, Rob worked on Wall Street. We ate out all the time (literally) and hated how difficult that made eating well. Every meal was a scavenger hunt for the least bad option. Most of our free time was spent running, biking, skiing, climbing, golfing, yoga-ing, triathlon-ing, lifting and generally just trying to be fit and healthy. Yet every meal we ate in a restaurant worked against us. We wanted to eat food that made us happy & healthy without having to think too hard about it. We got so obsessed with this idea that we quit our jobs and built the restaurant we wanted to eat at every day. Family and friends thought we were nuts. Though they all agreed that the menu sounded good..
