1687_ 3/9/15 - We're at the ACG Denver, March Luncheon talking with keynote speaker, Josh Scott, the founder and COO of Craftsy. Josh tells us, "Craftsy is an online education and products website for passionate and creative enthusiasts. We offer education that we develop ourselves. We bring in instructors from around the world, to our studios here in Denver. We film them in all kinds of subject matters ranging from quilting and sewing to knitting, cake decorating, cooking, photography, jewelry making, crochet and several other categories. Then we also sell products that help you bring life to those projects contemplated in those classes. We started the company about four and a-half years ago and have enjoyed a really fun growth path." 1692_ 3/16/15 - Every other Tuesday morning Doyle Albee and Bing Chou host the Boulder Open Coffee Club (BOCC). The idea is to get a bunch of folks from the startup and business community together to talk about current events, job openings and things of that nature, talking about our common interests. Doyle said, "We bounce back and forth. We find a lot of people think they need a passport to go from Boulder-to-Denver or Denver-to-Boulder. And, in fact, you don't, just to be clear. But, we do an Open Coffee Club every Tuesday morning at 8:00 am. We do Denver one week, Boulder the next week. Some people come to both, it's two very different crowds, two very different feels.
